Introducing the Community Cookbook

The Community Cookbook is a collection of recipes from within the community, both contemporary and historical. The goal of this project is to not only preserve the region's culinary history, but also make it easy to share.

So, in this site you will find both a searchable database of recipes, and a collection of ebooks that the library has produced in PDF, ePub, and mobi formats (for Kindle owners). To start with, we have three ebooks:

What's Cooking?

It has been a long time since our last cookbook. Our latest is something short and sweet from the Fairview Park Woman's Club, called What's Cooking? Published in the spring of 1970, this cookbook has 43 recipes, some of which must be much older than the publication date. One refers to a toothpick as a "woodpin" and instructs cooks to use use a "Dover Beater."
